π§ Welcome to EvSusEd β Evidence-informed Sustainability Education
EvSusEd β Evidence-informed Sustainability Education is a platform dedicated to catalyze a transformation within Sustainability Education (SE), fostering professional, i.e., evidence-informed, effective, and ethically-responsible practices.
This science blog will hopefully evolve to a platform where researchers, teachers, and other interested people of various domains, however with a shared interest in evidence-informed sustainability education can share ideas, resources, and inspirations.
The aims of EvSusEd are to:
- Present well-researched content that challenges and expands the current understanding of sustainability education.
- Identify, explain and challenge prevalent myths in this field by thoroughly looking at relevant literature and drawing parallels with general education and psychology myths.
- Establish a trusted source for debunking and discussing myths in sustainability education.
- Create a platform for critical and constructive exchange about sustainability education.
- Another purpose of this blog is to share outcomes and resources of the research project Myths in and about Sustainability Education (MYTHSE) β wherever possible as open materials.

π Research and Publications
Evidence-informed teaching and practice-informed research are the guiding principles of EvSusEd. Here, I bring together two of my current main research foci: sustainability education and educational myths. My mission is to generate and disseminate both theoretical and empirical evidence surrounding myths in and about sustainability education.
My aim is to prepare scientific findings and share them with my target groups. Open access publications in academic journals, books, science blogs as well as contributions to (inter)national conferences are particularly important to me.
Educational Materials
I analyze, evaluate and produce educational materials for research, teaching and further education. In doing so, I employ quality criteria for educational media and use various analysis and evaluation grids. Committed to the values of sustainability, openness and efficiency, I am in favor of Open Educational Practices, e.g., teaching-related knowledge management and Open Educational Resources.
These resources entail whole self-learning courses such as Sustainability Education 101 or Educational Myths Debunked 101, podcast episodes or interactive learning snacks.
Consultancy, Talks, and Workshops
I am available for consultancy work on a limited basis. My expertise and services encompass research, evaluating and commenting on proposals, academic development, and delivering lectures, interactive talks and workshops.
My offers tend to be on key competencies, learning activities, and forms of assessment in environmental and sustainability education, evidence-informed and discipline-specific best practices and about debunking myths, i.e., misconceptions about sustainability education.
